▷ The super modernization of the 76′ Bahamas by Riva (2022)

The 76′ Bahamas Super can reach 37 knots with 1,800mhp engines.

Riva has unveiled the 76′ Bahamas Super, six years after the original model with the spirit of both an open and a coupé joined the shipyard’s Open range. The 23m model is another Riva project carried out by Officina Italiana Design – the firm founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta – in collaboration with the Ferretti Group’s strategic product committee led by Piero Ferrari and its engineering department.

The yacht has a top speed of 32 knots and a cruising speed of 28 with a pair of 1,550hp MAN V12 V-engines, while the 1,800hp options take those figures to 37 and 32 knots respectively. The aerodynamic profile of the Shark Gray hull with contrasting gloss black accents now features more glazing, while there are many new features in terms of digital innovation, functionality and storage.

Bahams 76' C-Top
The C-Top can cover the foredeck or the saloon.

The flagship element of the Bahamas remains the now legendary C-Top, the aerodynamic carbon roof with a patented system that transforms the yacht from open to coupe and vice versa in less than a minute.

Raised by two polished carbon arms, it rises from the deckhouse to a position above the saloon and locks onto the windshield and carbon hoop, revealing the foredeck seats. The owner can also choose to add the optional side covers to fully protect the cockpit in inclement weather.

The aft cockpit includes a huge sundeck.

The huge aft cockpit remains the heart of the yacht, with guests able to relax on the large sundeck overlooking the beach or on the aft sofa and adjoining deck chair.

The restyling has made it possible to modernize this space with advanced technologies and home automation solutions. The sundeck armrests feature two integrated panels which provide quick and easy control of the lights, stereo system and door to the aft garage, which can hold a 3.25m Williams tender and water toys .

Forward, the saloon dominates the central part of the deck and is protected by the double curvature laminated glass windshield with a polished stainless steel frame.

On the starboard side, the dining area is furnished with an L-shaped sofa and a teak table with stainless steel trim that comfortably seats eight guests. Behind this space are various storage compartments that hold audio equipment and more.

On the port side, the long bar area contains a fridge, ice maker and sink, as well as an optional grill or TV screen.

The cockpit is another highlight of the upgrade’s new technology. The captain can manage the entire yacht using three 16 or 19 inch touch screens, while the steering system has been converted from a hydraulic system to an electro-hydraulic Xenta steer-by-wire system with independent rudder control. An Aventics joystick with docking mode functionality is available as an option.

The yacht is fitted with Humphree dynamic trim automatic interceptors, which simplify operation and optimize fuel consumption, while a Seakeeper NG18 can be fitted to provide greater stability at anchor and while cruising.

The pilot and co-pilot seats, specially designed for all Riva models by Officina Italiana Design, are housed in a fiberglass cradle and supported by a stainless steel “bridge” for an overall lighter appearance. They are joined by a third armchair on the other side of the sliding hatch that leads below deck.

The skilful restyling continues below deck, where the decoration draws attention to the bold character of the yacht: the bevelled white veneer and enhanced with obsidian varnish is enhanced by black leather trim with white stitching. Stainless steel completes the styling palette of the Bahamas Super 76′.

Stairs lead directly to the salon, which is on the port side and features an L-shaped sofa and coffee table, while there is a guest cabin to starboard, forward of the corner galley.

In the kitchen, a sliding wall shelf has been added to increase the available work surface. The galley door is no longer recessed but now hinged, increasing storage space in the adjacent guest cabin and allowing the addition of a pull-out drawer.

76' Bahamas Super master suite
The master suite is located amidships.

Amidships, the master suite features a forward-facing double bed and wardrobe on the starboard side, complemented by the en-suite bathroom, which features a new layout. The main hall has a practical storage space containing the washer-dryer, while a large locker on the opposite side increases the storage space on board.

The forward VIP suite also has an en-suite bathroom, while the guest cabin bathroom includes a shower separated by a glass partition to improve habitability. Corian – or marble on request – is used for worktops and floors in the kitchen and bathrooms.
