Located above Lake Lucerne and surrounded by pristine nature, Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence is part of a group of four hotels, which make up the Bürgenstock Resort. The other three hotels include the Bürgenstock Hotel, the Palace Hotel and the Taverne 1879.

The Waldhotel is distinguished by its striking wooden facade, designed by the famous Italian designer Matteo Thun. Its design is both innovative and integrated into the environment, with demanding sustainable development standards.

All rooms and suites at the Waldhotel invite you into a world of balanced design, where raw elements such as wood and local stone blend with sensory surfaces. The elegant and modern decor knows how to remain discreet, because here the real star is the view of the beautiful alpine landscape.

The rooms are a minimum of 40 m² and all have balconies. Bathrooms are large, with separate tubs and walk-in showers.

Large bay windows and mirrors give a feeling of space and light. In the superior category, the suites are made up of one or two bedrooms for a maximum area of ​​150 m². The largest are real apartments, with kitchen, living room and fireplace.

The Waldhotel spa: a haven of peace

Although the spa at the Waldhotel is not as spectacular as the Alpine Spa at the Bürgenstock Hotel a few minutes’ walk away, it is nonetheless of excellent quality. It has a large indoor swimming pool and an outdoor swimming pool heated even in the middle of winter and which allows you to enter into communion with nature. This hot-cold alternation is reflected in the design of the spa: cold water Kneipp baths to stimulate the body, infrared saunas and lounge chairs by the fire to warm up.

Wellness programs at the Waldhotel, or how to be reborn in a new light

The hotel offers medical examinations, protocols aimed at postoperative convalescence or treating burnout patients.

You can choose from 11 wellness programs adapted to different needs. The programs include advanced diagnostics and examinations, and they use a combination of techniques aimed improve health and beauty. This wide range of therapeutic services is based on the following triptych: Anyone wishing to maintain long-term good health should ensure that they have enough rest, a balanced diet and regular physical exercise. One of the big differences with other famous wellness hotels such as the Chenot Palace Weggis or the SHA Wellness Clinic that we also offer is that here there are no treatments inspired by Chinese medicine. Everything is based on Western medicine.

The Waldhotel programs last between three and fourteen nights and begin with a diagnosis, the Waldhotel Check-up, which makes it possible to a full health check. The programs were created in collaboration with Dr. Verena Briner, a doctor specializing in general internal medicine and nephrology who for 20 years headed the medical department of the Lucerne cantonal hospital LUKS.

The fitness center also offers sports medicine consultations and in performance diagnostics, with electrocardiograms, 24-hour blood pressure measurement, ultrasound to examine the carotid arteries, etc.
